listen & write! yay! ;)
Song: Heartbeats – The Knife
Huh.
11.57.37 PM.
Not bad, self. You've outdone your productivity record today. You jogged, cleaned the whole house AND the basement— God knows those old vacuums needed to go. You went out to a lunch meeting that lasted for 6 hours— a record in itself, given that by the time it was over, it was practically dinner. You went to get groceries, alphabetically rearranged the pantry (but then decided to color-code all the canned foods and now you have the most awesome cupboard ever), and you just finished redecorating the mantelpiece. That picture you took of the sunset sure looks glorious there. Matt would love it. He loves sunsets.
…
Great. That's just great. You almost made it through the day without thinking about him, dammit.

If She's Gone I Can't Go On
listen & write time :)
song: The Beatles — You've Got To Hide Your Love Away
The grandkids wanted me to tell them a story. So I told them a story about the most beautiful princess in the whole world—
who ended up saving a prince and became their grandmother.
I really, really miss you, you know.

Routines
1 more listen & write from yours truly :)
Love Is No Big Truth – Kings Of Convenience
After three weeks of no school in our schedules, it all becomes sort of a routine. You, me, the bench at the park, me trying hard to keep my heart from bursting out of my ribcage, me keeping my eyes on the clouds, you, me trying to not sigh every time you sit back on the bench, me trying not to flinch every time you ask me if I'm OK (because I am, I really am), you, the bench at the park, you, me wondering if I should just bolt and fly off to a foreign country (but ultimately decide against it because, well, you won't be there), you, you, me, the bench at the park, you, you, you, you, me kicking myself around for agreeing to coming to this park with you, you, and lastly, me brainstorming scenarios in which I finally tell you, that I love you.

What I Call Life
Another Listen & Write. Just one story this time.
Song: What Would You Do - City High
"Hey babe," someone called me. I turned my head to see a middle aged man trying too hard to look cool in his old Volkswagen.
"Hey," I greeted him back. In my world, this is how bringing the bacon always starts.
"Get in?"
"You paying?"
"Hell yeah."

Matthew's, Martin's, and Morrison's
More Listen&Write exercise from me. This time I'm using www.jango.com for the songs. -Runi.
1. Crash Into Me - Dave Matthews Band
He made it so easy for me. A romantic picnic, a walk on the beach, candles, and music. Yes, the right kind of music. Time-stealing glances, the look-away, and the giggles. Soft touches, sweet kisses, and beautiful words. He made it so easy for me.
It was so easy, but I wasn't ready. But there was no way I could say no. I closed my eyes and let him get close to hold me tight.
"We can always do this another time, you know?" he said, and my eyes fluttered awake. "I wasn't kidding when I said I wasn't going anywhere."

Sindrow's Listen & Write, part four
I put my iTunes on shuffle and wrote a story based on whatever song that came on. When the song stopped, I stopped writing. Didn't edit the story except for typos and grammar mistakes, so these might be crap to you. but hey, at least i try :)
1. Be My Honeypie – The Weepies
The way he dances makes me happy. It's like poetry, but the good kind. The kind that needs no pondering. The kind that makes no sense, but leaves you feeling everything.
And when he does his jumps I always forget that he'll always come back down.

1. Flowers – New Radicals
Soul searching. That's what they all said you were doing. But no. You know better. You now know who you are, and who you are not, is straight. There. You've said it. You said it to yourself, looking at your reflection in the mirror and it felt strange— but good. No more questioning, you said. This is it, and this is you.
This is you, you repeat. You're proud and there is nothing to be ashamed of.

1.24-25, KoC
He whispers, “I love you,” I smile. I can feel his warm breathe on my ears, and the wind singing softly, took his words and breaths away from me.
I’m sitting alone in this beach, just like any other day with him. When the sun is about to set, we would sitting here together, holding hands.
Until we close our eyes, and never open it again.
And then we say good bye, first to each other, then to the rest of the world.

1. Rolling In The Deep - Adele
"I don't know what you're doing, still hanging out with her. You know how I feel about this", send text, text sent, wait.
Beep beep. "Right. I'm sorry."
Idiot, you're not. I know.
"You're not. I know", send text, text sent, wait.
Beep beep. "If you say so."
Eff. Don't pull this on me. Not now.

1. December – Norah Jones
It's christmas evening and for a while I stood at the porch, looking at the snow. Completely expected and nowhere near exciting, I know. But what else is there for me to do? These days I don't feel like doing anything except for putting flowers over your grave and sob over memories.
But, speaking of flowers— ok, fine, dead leaves or whatever you want to call it— I put up a mistletoe over the threshold that leads to our bedroom. I know, I know, it's a little corny. Not to mention a little bit on the creepy side. But I've always known that underneath it all, you secretly adore mistletoes. And I miss you. So, let me just pretend for a short while. Let me pretend that if I waited underneath the mistletoe, you'd come and swoop me off my feet and kiss me as if you were never gone. At least until all the snow has melted.

1. Between Sheets- Imogen Heap
I walked alone. Alone. Alone. And alone. But I sensed someone's lurking.
I needed to go there to see you for I had something to tell you.
"What if anything happened to us before we reach the finish line?" As I thought along the way.
"Will you be there when I arrived?
What if I died first? Will you still be waiting for me to come?" As I whispered my way.
I walked alone. Alone. And alone. But I sensed someone's lurking.
Did you see it?
It took me away to the darkest sky. I'm no longer on your side. I'm sorry I couldn't finish until the end..

1. Ice Storm, Big Gust and You [Tilly and the Wall]
I looked at my reflection on the window before I went in. Pretty dolled up. You had told me to dress up, to leave my work behind, to light up, to live. It was all I need, your encouragement.
And to think that it had been ages since we last met. We had always been like this, hadn't we? A summer break. Frequent, but not all the time. This time I loved myself more. This time, I was prettier. All dolled up.
I stepped in the bar. The same bar that witnessed all of our everything. I sat down and ordered two glasses of Coke. One with lime, one without. I still remembered how you seemed to think that putting lime in drinks was weirder than a baby born with a glow-in-the-dark nose.

1. Strawberry Swing – Coldplay
It was getting dark, so we rushed to a coffee house under a magenta sky.
I sat at a table in the corner and he walked straight to the barista. He ordered for me because he knows my coffee order— and I think it's sweet. And I couldn't wrap my head around what I had decided to say because we made sense. Just not romantically.
I sat there watching him and I wished he would just ditch me right then and there so I wouldn't have to drop the bomb. But he came back to the table so I did it anyway. Then we both sank into our seats.
Neither of us wanted the awkward pause but it seemed like it was enjoying its stay. He started playing with sugar packs while I started blowing imaginary steam from my no longer hot coffee.
