More Listen&Write exercise from me. This time I'm using www.jango.com for the songs. -Runi.
1. Crash Into Me - Dave Matthews Band
He made it so easy for me. A romantic picnic, a walk on the beach, candles, and music. Yes, the right kind of music. Time-stealing glances, the look-away, and the giggles. Soft touches, sweet kisses, and beautiful words. He made it so easy for me.
It was so easy, but I wasn't ready. But there was no way I could say no. I closed my eyes and let him get close to hold me tight.
"We can always do this another time, you know?" he said, and my eyes fluttered awake. "I wasn't kidding when I said I wasn't going anywhere."
I was still trying to digest everything in, when he stood up and put his shirt back on.
He took a glance at me, smiled that smile that was only reserved for me, and said, "You silly girl, I've told you, I won't let you do things you don't wanna do." Then he playfully threw my shirt to my direction and said, "Get dressed, I'll make you a cup of hot chocolate."
I was going to produce at least a syllable out of my half-gaping mouth, but he cut me short, "With nutmeg, your favorite."
And just like that, I knew I was ready.
2. In My Place - Coldplay
He sat down on the couch, and crossed his feet on the coffee table. She didn't give him a hard time about it like she used to. She just smiled at him from the pantry and continued making his coffee.
She always knew how he liked his coffee. And she always knew how to brew the way he liked it.
"Don't take too long, baby, we have a pile of DVDs to watch," he called out to her. "Plus, we still have much cuddling to do."
She leaned over the pantry table, just grinned until her eyes looked like a pair of crescent moons, and nodded.
"Maybe we can start working on the vegetable garden on the patio that you've always wanted this afternoon," he called out again. "How about that?"
She left the kitchen and walked to his direction, holding a tray with two cups of coffee on it. He looked up and saw that smile. The DVDs, the coffee, the vegetable garden, the cuddling, it wouldn't mean a thing without that smile.
And as she was coming close, the front door opened, and their real estate agent came in. His real estate agent came in.
"I'm sorry, were you on the phone? I thought I heard you talking," the real estate agent scribbled something on his notepad. "We should get some things fixed before we can put it in the market, and maybe you want to change the garden a bit, and--"
He tuned the agent out. He turned his head back to her as fast as he could, because he knew what was happening, he knew if he blinked, she would be gone. He turned his head to where she was with the tray and the coffee cups.
Too late.
3. Pieces Don't Fit Anymore - James Morrison
"So what are you doing after this?" he asked, looking nervous.
"I don't know. Cleaning up the apartment probably," she said politely.
They stood on the sidewalk when the drizzles started to sprinkle. She spread out her coat over her head and gave a certain stare to him that he knew she was asking him to join her under the coat. He hesitated before he got under the coat.
The awkwardness, the shyness... Anyone could see that they were on their first date.
But then a cab pulled over. He put his hand in his pocket and fished out a key. He gave her the key and he signaled the cab driver to put two suitcases that no one noticed before in the trunk.
"Take care," he said and she just smiled and said, "You too."
And they went on their separate ways.
